Cabin Camping

On Friday, January 15, 2010, we packed up to get to the Kiwanis Youth Cabin near Monroe.  I was excited to go because it was my first time going cabin camping with the troop.  I got to the church at 5:00 p.m. when we were supposed to be there at 4:30 p.m.  We left the church at 5:30 and got to the cabin at 6:00.  Once we were there, we had to heat up the cabin. Once we were done unpacking, the cabin was around 50 degrees.  So we went in the cabin and choose our bunks. There were only 7 of us going, so we each got our own bunk set.  It was supposed to be a Webolo invite, but only one came.  After we choose our bunk, we ate our cold lunch.  That night, we played cards until bedtime.

This is the cabin we stayed in.  The location of the cabin can be found at http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&source=hp&q=Youth+Cabin+monroe,+wi&oq=&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=Youth+Cabin+Rd,+Monroe,+WI+53566&gl=us&ei=bTF2S_GlDMipnQeK78zPCQ&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=title&resnum=1&ved=0CAgQ8gEwAA

The next day someone woke me up because it was almost breakfast. So I got up and ate breakfast with everyone else. We had a Paul Bunyan breakfast, which is a sausage wrapped in a pancake. After breakfast, I helped wash the dishes because it was my turn in the rotation. After that, we left to help with a Cub Scout Pinewood Derby.

When we got back to the cabin, 2 more scouts had joined us. That night, we played cards until supper. For supper we had spaghetti and meatsauce. Then, we played cards until it was time to go to bed. The next morning, I had to help make breakfast because it was my turn in the rotation. We had scrambled egg wraps. After breakfast, we got packed up and went home. Everyone had fun.
